The Stressed Out Student

So my blogging has kind of stalled a little bit at the moment.

I am currently in my last year of university and just completing my dissertation. It is completely taking over my life at the moment and I basically have no social life at all.  I finish all my work within May so that is a light at the end of the tunnel (Kind of). After  that it is the tense waiting to see what grade I'm going to be graduating with.

It is not all bad though as along with finishing university you also get some good times to celebrate. For instance I have to go dress shopping for my Grad ball and Graduation. That is the one thing I'm really looking forward to. I will probably do blog posts on my dress shopping, grad ball and graduation so keep checking back.

Elyar Fox, The Vamps and The Wanted!

So I set myself a resolution that I was going to go to as many concerts this year as possible! I love to go but for some reason I never get tickets. We are only 3 months into the year and I have already been to two concerts featuring my favourite artists plus I had the bonus of seeing my favourite band The Vamps  perform at each concert. Not too bad!

I bought my tickets for The Wanted tour before they announced their break. Im so glad I did as it was a great night for music. I saw two of my favourite bands and also found a new artist that I liked so much I went and bought their music off of iTunes.

Elyar Fox  - 1st Support Act

Aberdeen  15/03/14

The set was short but that is to be expected from a support act but he did play a few songs including his two singles. The overall set was catchy music, that got the majority of the floor seats standing. He played his most recent single "A Billion Girls" and I liked it so much I had to buy it.Although to be honest I did not know much about Elyar before I knew he would be on tour with The Wanted. I'm glad I found  out about him now as I suspect that 2014 will be a big year for him.

Overall the set was a good start to the concert but I must say that I did feel a little bit sorry for him at the start of the set as the audience wasn't the most liveliest audience I have been in.

The Vamps - 2nd Support Act

Aberdeen 15/03/14

I must be honest and say that when I found out they were supporting The Wanted, I was more excited to see them than the main act.  I been a follower of The Vamps for a while now and I must say that they are amazing live. They really connect with the audience and you feel involved in their set which is great if you are a fan of their music, which I think a  lot of people where at my concert date.

Aberdeen 15/03/14

I really think they are going to be one of the biggest contenders within the music industry this year. I think this because of multiple reasons so ill just list them.

  1. They write their own music and play their own instruments  so their songs are lyrical strong and guitar driven. I think this is amazing consider a lot of bands do not have this type of investment into their music at the present time.
  2. They have a strong and passionate fan base. Myself included.
  3. They actually consider their fans even though they are becoming more popular. They provide so many extras for fans such as twitcams, tweeting, bundles, competitions, etc.
  4. They have an album coming out.
  5. They have a headlining tour at the end of the year.
  6. I have liked every song that I have heard them play which is rare, the only other artist that this applies to is Taylor swift.
So that is my rant about why I think The Vamps will have a successful 2014!

At the concert, they played all their singles plus a unreleased song "Girls On TV" which I hope is in the album out in April. Also played was Cecilia which is a crowd favourite and the audience was soon singing along.

On the night it was also Conner's (bass player and singer) 18th birthday so the crowd sung him happy birthday. One of the sweetest parts was when his little brother came on stage to give him a surprise! Photo is above.

The Wanted- Main Act

Aberdeen 15/03/14

I have always liked The Wanted's music but I have never went to one of there concerts. I did not  really know what to expect but it was really entertaining. Another thing I will say that made the night perfect was the fact that all three acts can really sing! There is nothing worse than going to see an artist you like but they can not sing live.

Aberdeen 15/03/14

There set was really energetic and fast paced with all of their biggest hits! Which meant a lot of singing along and that always the best part of the concert for me. Although the concert was so exciting, it did have sparks of sadness due to them taking a break after the final date. To commemorate this, they played various videos showing their best memories. The videos were used to display 4 years of The Wanted and it did a good job although for the fans it was quite sad.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to see them at their best before their break and hopefully they will be back soon!

My biggest disappointment for the whole night was the audience! A lot of people were not getting that involved. I personally was next to a couple who sat down the whole night on there phone and was giving me dirty looks at standing up to see.  That was the only issue I had the whole concert but it did make it a little uncomfortable for me as I was afraid to move!

I recommend any of these acts but especially The Vamps! I will be getting tickets for their tour and I am excited to see what they will do compared to The Wanted.

Clips of the concert will be added soon.

Taylor Swift Red Tour

I will admit I am major of Taylor Swift  fan so to get tickets to see her at the O2 arena at the beginning of the month was an exciting moment. I have to say the concert did not disappoint at all.
Taylor Swift Red Tour
(Sorry about the heads in the picture haha )

I have seen Taylor once before in May 2009 at Shepherd's Bush in London. She was brilliant live but there was no major production, it was just her and the band. She was relatively unknown then so it was a small gig with the tickets only £ 15 if I remember right.  This time could not have been any different.

May 2009 - Taylor's First UK Show

To start off the concert on a good note she had a brilliant support act - The Vamps. I am sure you will have heard off them if not go and check them out on YouTube that were I found them a long time ago, you wont regret it! They are getting a massive following themselves and I can see why as there own songs are the kind you really want to sing along to plus they are actually a band that plays there own instruments. They are going on tour later this year and i am hoping I will be able to get tickets. Fingers Crossed!

You Belong With Me

Now back to Taylor's set. It was brilliant from start to end and she interacted with the crowd throughout the night. Each song that was on the set list  created a new atmosphere on the stage from the love story's music box to we are never ever getting back together's circus theme. Every song  was played differently so went from dancing to a piano piece. No matter what was happening on stage, the crowd were singing along which i think made the concert a lot more personal. Her special guest Ed Sheeran played Lego House with Taylor and that was a hit with the crowds as well.

The set list included a lot of her songs from the past two albums. I love every song but i do miss hearing some of her old songs such as Tim Mcgraw and Should Have Said No ( If you have been a fan for as long as i have you will know these songs haha).

Overall this concert was by far the best i have been too and i would go back again if i had the chance. So if she is coming to you and your a fan, get a ticket quick!

Hello

I have been reading blogs for quite a while now so I thought why not give
it a go . It might not be great but I  have had the idea in my mind for ages
now so I thought why not give it a go. This post is just to tell you what I
hope to do with this blog but it might change depending on how I feel.

I am an event management student so there is a good possibility that I
might do some event reviews on here. Along with anything that I feel
                                              I want to write about.

I have never done anything like this before so it might take
me a little while to make it good but
I hope you can forgive me for that.
